In March 2000, the 14th General Assembly of the World Crafts Council was held in Paris, France

At this General Assembly, Mrs. Elena Averoff from Greece was elected as the President of World Crafts Council International. At this very session of the General Assembly, India had the honour of its representative Mrs. Vijaya Rajan being nominated as World Crafts Council Regional President for Asia Pacific.
