Activities

 

World Crafts Council Asia Pacific promotes crafts, and its programs are aimed at the preservation of crafts in the Asia Pacific Region. The organisation forms a part of a network of contacts for organisations in the field of crafts. Dissemination of information is an important task undertaken by the World Crafts Council Asia Pacific Region.

The World Crafts Council Asia Pacific Region organises exhibitions, workshops and seminars to:

  • strengthen and ensure the status of crafts as a vital part of cultural life
  • promote the human values inherent in the crafts and a sense of fellowship among the craftspeople of the Asia Pacific region
  • offer encouragement, help and advice to craftspersons
  • foster wider knowledge and recognition of the work of craftspersons
  • provide a forum for craftspeople, to interact and lobby for their interests
  • promote the establishment of crafts societies
  • serve as an agency for co-operation between crafts organisations through regional, national and international meetings and events.
