Ms. Surapee Rojanavongse has been involved in the field of Arts and Crafts for almost forty years with the Thai and ASEAN Government Departments and International NGOs’ concerned in the promotion and development of handicrafts to alleviate poverty in the rural areas.

She had written numerous papers on this subject. She has a large collection of textiles intended for Textiles Studies to the young generations. She had initiated a project: UNESCO-AHPADA “SEAL OF EXCELLENCE” since 2001. The project had been extended to South Asia Region in October 2004, Central Asia Region in May 2005 and later that year to East Asia Region. The project is now called “UNESCO AWARD of Excellence” since 2008.

She firmly believes that Crafts can promote WORLD PEACE through Art in Education from the very young age.
